Pumpkin Spice
Happy Monday my lovelies! New month, new week, new goals – cheesy I know. But it actually rings true for me. I start my new Style Advisor job today and I’m high key excited! Last week was my final week of being funemployed so I made sure to go out with a bang. I even did something that I don’t normally do: I went to a blogger event. I don’t normally go to them because it feels like high school and I’m too old for that crap but I’m trying to be less anti-social so I went. I put on my Wednesday best and had a good time. Since it was in the 60s that day (and let’s be honest, I really wanted to wear my new sweater too) I planned my outfit around this gorgeous pumpkin oversized sweater.
I posted this pumpkin beauty on my Instagram Stories last week in black when I was showing my followers what I currently had in my Zara shopping cart. It comes in 4 other colors but naturally I chose black. However, I called a last minute audible when I was about to check out and changed it to this color. It’s called “brick” but it looks more pumpkin in person. I ordered my regular size (small) and it’s slightly oversized. I was able to do this front tuck without having too much bulk. As much as I love oversized sweaters (and I have lots of them already), it was the button neck detail that really sold me on it and that’s why I bought it. It’s thick but not heavy and it kept me warm after sundown. I’m obsessed with it and I have plans to buy it in black before it sells out.
As I said earlier, it was in the 60s so I really wanted to wear shorts with it. I know it seems counter intuitive to wear shorts with a sweater but I felt like doing it so there. These Levi’s cutoffs are the wedgie fit (which I LOVE) and I wear them any chance I get. I will say that they fit differently than the wedgie fit jeans that I also own. I wear a size 26 in almost every denim brand including Levi’s. However, these shorts are a 28. Just an FYI if you’re thinking about ordering some during the off season (because they are usually sold out during the spring and summer).
To round out my look, I decided to wear OTK boots. I don’t know what it is that I love about short shorts and tall boots. Not going to lie, I wrestled with this decision for a while though trying to figure out which ones to wear. I could have done my Stuart Weitzman taupe pair that I wore in last week’s blog post or one of my black pairs. But I wasn’t 100 percent sold on it. Then I thought about these burgundy beauties. Perfect! And the finishing touch was my Louis Vuitton Toiletry Pouch 26 that I use as a clutch. As you all know, I’m a huge fan of using cosmetics bags as clutches. I do the same thing with my black large Cuyana monogrammed cosmetics bag when I need a casual black bag for an evening out. Remember, fashion is what you buy but style is what you do with it.
