White Denim: So Right
Happy Monday, lovelies!
The weekend went by way too fast but time flies when you’re having fun. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I celebrated my one year “blogiversary” on Saturday. That’s right, CCB Diaries is a year old now…woohoo! More on that later. Yesterday was Mother’s Day but since I couldn’t be in California to celebrate with my mommy, I spent the day resting and relaxing with my fur baby, Dexter. And after a week of horrible weather, the sun finally decided to make an appearance yesterday in NYC. For me, nothing says spring has arrived better than white denim.
Don’t get me wrong. You can (and you should) wear white denim year-round. I own a pair of white jeans in every style (flares, boyfriend, and skinny jeans). This particular pair of skinnies is from Zara. They’re stretchy like a jegging but still have great structure to them like a true skinny jean. And this pair only set me back about 40 dollars. I love white denim in the spring and summer months when it’s too hot for blue jeans. But in fall and winter it’s nice to give the darker denim a break and brighten up those gloomy days with some white. And since white is neutral, you can wear just about anything with white jeans, including white. All white outfits are oh so chic, especially since white shoes (pumps included) are very in right now. But if you feel like all white would wash you out or it’s too intense for your taste, try wearing a cream shirt instead, like I did with this chunky sweater.
You may remember this H&M sweater from my Sweater Weather post from a few months back. In that post, I wore that sweater solo. This time, I layered it with a chambray shirt for a pop of color. I’m so glad that I bought this sweater last fall. I wore it constantly through the late fall and winter months with everything from black coated jeans and my high top sneakers to leggings and over-the-knee boots (with my faux fur coat, of course). If H&M does bring back this sweater, I would get grey, camel, and navy blue. Did you notice that black wasn’t on the list? I’m not the biggest fan of black sweaters. I don’t find them to be versatile. But that’s just me.
White Accessories
I chose to keep my accessories relatively neutral but still fun. I wanted the white to make the biggest statement. My oversized Michael Kors clutch has been in heavy rotation lately and I love it. It’s big enough to carry all of my essentials but it’s not a nuisance. I can tuck it under my arm or carry it with one hand. It does have a shoulder strap but I never use it. I threw on a couple of stackable rings on each hand just for fun. To complete the look, I cuffed my white jeans and let my leopard pumps shine. And per usual, my signature red lip and Celine sunglasses add the finishing touches.
On a final note, I wanted to circle back to the “blogiversary” topic. The past year has been an adventure and I loved every minute of it. There are also some exciting things in the works that I can’t wait to share with you all over the next few months. I especially want to thank Kristin, Karl, Monique, and Kathy for all of their hard work week in and week out behind the scenes. CCB Diaries would not be what it is today without them. Last but not least, I wanted to say thank you all for your continued support of CCB Diaries. This truly is a passion of mine. I eat, sleep, and breathe all things fashion and to be able to share it with all of you is truly a blessing. I love you all!
Have a great start to your week!
xoxo, CCB
