Happy Hump Day, lovelies! Hopefully you’ve all caught up on sleep after losing an hour on Sunday – I sure haven’t. Between working 10 hour days all this week and business meetings for upcoming projects, coffee is bae. Friday couldn’t come soon enough but it’ll all be worth it!
I’ve been spending a lot of time in Brooklyn lately and I absolutely love it. And now that it’s finally springtime in NYC (fingers crossed that this good weather sticks around for a while), I want to spend more time outside. Sometimes, I like to grab a big cup of something warm (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate), sit in the park, and read. After spending an afternoon in Prospect Park a couple of weeks earlier, I knew I wanted to shoot for CCB Diaries there. It’s like Central Park but with less tourists.
Blush in Brooklyn
I love blush tones, especially mauve. It’s a great neutral pink that pairs well with grey, brown, navy, and even olive green. This was one of the first full midi skirts that I bought when they made their comeback a few seasons back. I absolutely love it. If you also notice, it has pockets. The full skirt I’m wearing in my Galentine’s Day post also has pockets. I think the pockets make the skirt more versatile in the sense that you can dress them up or down. And believe it or not, it also came in black at the time and I didn’t get it (gasp). There was something about this blush color that was mesmerizing to me. And I must say that I don’t regret my choice to forgo black at all.
I paired my blush skirt with a cropped denim jacket and a plain white tee. I’ve also worn this skirt with a crisp white button up (a chambray shirt would be great here too) and a navy or grey layering sweater on days where it’s a bit chilly. And because I can’t resist adding leopard print to almost any outfit, I threw on my favorite infinity scarf for a little pop.
Alright, I know that I say this about all of my shoe children, but seriously, if you’re going to invest in a great pair of designer pumps, these would be my first pair. Here’s why: they’re classic but with a little edge, come in a variety of heel heights, colors, and fabrics, and they’re extremely comfortable fresh out of the box. The first day I got them I wore them for 12 hours and my feet didn’t hurt at all! I have the blush/poudre color and they’re perfect. I wear them with black, white, and cream outfits mostly but they would look chic a monochromatic nude outfit as well.
I hope this post inspires you to look at blush tones in a different light. It’s a great way to add color to your wardrobe without venturing too far outside of your comfort zone. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
Have a great day!
xoxo, CCB
