Summer Staples: Cut-off Shorts
Hey y’all! Happy Thursday! I’m having a pretty intense week but at least it’s going by quickly. I was supposed to have this post up yesterday but a sinus headache got the best of me. Dexter covered for me during the day (see my Instagram for the proof) and I finally started to feel better last night so I decided to get my post done for this week instead of pushing it back to next week. Plus, I’m really excited about this summer staples series because I’ve been so inspired to create new content to share with y’all. So without further ado, here’s part two!
It’s been suuuuuper hot in the Bay Area lately so I finally got to break out my shorts…yay! And since I can’t wear shorts to work, I have to get my fill on my days off. These high-waisted cut-off shorts have been on repeat lately. I bought them at Forever 21 at the end of April. They’re super comfy and I love all things high-waisted because they make me look taller.
This top was a random find during the same shopping trip in which I bought the cut-offs. I felt like I needed a white bodysuit tank so that I don’t always have to wear my basic tees and tuck them in. Plus, constantly having to check to see if my shirt is tucked in is super annoying. This one only cost me about $10 and my only regret is that I didn’t buy it in more colors. I’m that obsessed with this top now.
And yes, I purchased another kimono. I absolutely love this one too. I found it at Nordstrom during the same trip that I bought the tie knot tunic from last week’s post. This one in particular also came in the most beautiful shade of green but I had purchased my green one from a previous blog post already. This kimono is much heavier than the other one but I wear it a lot. I’ve also worn it with a t-shirt and jeans to work and got so many compliments on it. She definitely was a splurge compared to my other kimono (this one was $130) but she was totally worth it. I thought it was the perfect accompaniment to my cut-off shorts and tank for when the temperature starts to dip after the sun sets. You know, when it’s too warm for a jacket but too cold to not have some sort of cover-up.
Ohhhh and these sunnies!! I lurvs them!! I purchased them from Sunglass.la at the beginning of April and wore them nonstop. Then, in my haste, I left them on the train on the way to meet Ben for a blog shoot. Grrrrrr. But, I loved them so much that I bought them again. I even sent a pair to my girl, Sharon, because she loved them so much after seeing me rock them on my Instagram. These sunnies add to the retro vibe I’ve really been into lately. I don’t know if it’s my new hairdo or what but I’m enjoying every minute of it.
And yes, my Gucci bag is on the blog again this week. Sorry not sorry. I have not stopped carrying her since I got her. These sandals are my favorites for summer too and have been on major repeat. I got them about 3 summers ago after seeing them on the always fabulous Up Close and Stylish’s instagram feed. Are you following her? If not, you should be. She is literally everything. Anyways, these sandals are super comfy and are effortlessly chic. They do have a leather sole so I eventually did shell out some coin to have rubber soles put on them. Totally worth it.
One day closer to Friday…hang in there peeps!
xoxo, CCB
