Cardigan of Many Colors
Happy Tuesday everyone!
This blog post is a day late because, in all honesty, I needed a mental health day yesterday. I was burnt out. I only got 4 hours of sleep Friday night (don’t regret it though since I had fun) but my body has been punishing me ever since. I was exhausted. I had no desire to write an Instagram caption let alone an entire blog post yesterday. I mean, I would have barely made it through my work day if it weren’t for the two americanos and the 20 minute power nap I had during my lunch break. Hot mess express LOL.
But this outfit is NOT a hot mess – thanks in large part to my colorful cardigan. The moment I laid eyes on this Zara cardigan, I knew I had to have it. It gives me major vintage Missoni vibes like I was transported back to the 1970s. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful. When I first brought it home, I knew immediately that I wanted to wear it with a T-shirt and jeans. I’ve worn it again since with a black midi T-shirt dress and my white Common Projects sneakers as well. I also swapped out my white mules for my cornflower blue Prada bow mules on another occasion to make the blue in the cardigan pop.
Not sure if you remember my post about my wardrobe staples but these white Hanes tees are one of them. Yes, these are men’s tees but I love how soft they are and how they fit but aren’t fitted. I do find myself in certain instances looking in the men’s section for things. If there’s a look or feel that I’m going for and I can’t find it in women’s, I search men’s. Some of my best pieces have come from the men’s section. Seriously. Just because it’s men’s doesn’t mean only men can wear it…and vice versa! If it works, it works.
These black Levis are from a few posts ago. I bought them during the after Christmas sales that were going on. I’m in love with wedgie fit Levis and I had been searching for a black pair for months. Then these came along. We’ve been so happy together. 4 pairs and counting! I opted for black jeans with this look because I liked the contrast. Blue jeans would work too but I wanted to have some fun. A black denim miniskirt or black cutoffs would be great here too!
Accessorizing the Cardigan
To round out my look, I opted for my new white mules, black corduroy cabby hat, Chloe-inspired sunnies, Gucci belt and Dionysus bag. I thought that the white shoe was a great contrast with the black jeans. There’s just something I love about dark/black bottoms and white shoes. I can’t explain it but I just love it. They go together like peanut butter and jelly.
What are some fashion combos that you love? Let me know in the comments!
