Short(s) Stories
Happy Monday everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted on the blog (my apologies) but I’ve had a lot of business to take care of on the home front. I accepted a job offer at another company last week (and you know how arduous that process can be) and if you follow me on Instagram you saw that I also had to move again. It’s a looooong story but not my fault. It shouldn’t take very long to get settled into the new place and I won’t have to miss any more posting deadlines on my calendar. In the meantime, I’ve been working on some great content for you with Roman’s help and I hope you like it.
Summer is in full effect here in NYC and it’s almost unbearable. It’s hot and humid and we have to also deal with sudden and torrential thunderstorms. But at the office, they blast the AC so I freeze to death while I’m at work. The struggle is indeed real. So, I always have a blazer with me to stay warm. You’ve seen this blazer many, many times on the blog. She’s definitely my favorite so I wear her a lot. A black blazer is a must-have for any woman’s wardrobe. It can transform an otherwise ordinary “jeans and a tee” outfit into a polished, sophisticated look for casual Fridays at the office and weekend errands.
And can we talk about this tee?? It’s too cute!! Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of Chanel and Fendi, designed a bag charm that bears his likeness called the Karlito a few seasons ago and it was an instant hit. Socialitte created a t-shirt and sweatshirt line bearing the famous Karlito image but with the cheeky caption “Karl Who” on them. As soon as I saw this tee, I knew I had to have it. I’ve made it well-known on CCB Diaries that I’m a huge fan of graphic tees and through social media I’ve discovered so many great brands such as Tees in the Trap and MESS-age in a Bottle. You’ve seen me wear graphic tees with everything from jeans and boots to pencil skirts and heels. They’re extremely versatile.
I’ve been wearing these shorts nonstop since I bought them about a month ago. It was one of those days where I decided to take a peek in Forever 21 to kill some time and I found these girlfriend shorts. And because it’s sooooo hot in New York, I’ve been wearing them any chance I get. It’s too hot for pants (or any clothing for that matter) and I’ve been putting in work in the gym so why not show off my toned legs. I also like to wear denim shorts under shirt dresses that are a little too short or too sheer to wear solo (if you know what I mean).
When I was styling this outfit, I had the hardest time deciding what shoes to wear. Espadrilles, wedges, and even my Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals would have looked equally as fabulous as my ankle cuff pumps with this look. I think I ended up deciding on these because they weren’t the “obvious choice”. I like to take risks and make a bold statement with my outfits and these shoes definitely took it to another level. Mission accomplished.
Have a great start to your week!
xoxo, CCB
