The Glam Room
About 3 weeks ago, I was invited to a fabulous rooftop party that celebrated all things women put on by Enjoi Lux. The Glam Room was an event put on for women, by women, and with all women-owned businesses as vendors. We sipped, shopped, and got pampered by some of the best and left feeling empowered by the female panel comprised of some of the major players in fashion, beauty, and wellness.
Our Fabulous Panel (L to R): Deena Campbell, Kyrzayda Rodriguez, Grace Gold, Kat Fowler, Chyna (not pictured)
The panel of influencers talked about how they got their start, some of the obstacles they’ve had to overcome to make it in their respective industries, and so on. No offense to the other ladies but Kyrzayda is my secret style crush so I spent a little bit (okay, a lot) of time talking to her more than the others. She’s really sweet, by the way, with a beautiful and humble spirit. I’m so honored that I got the chance to meet her!
As we were waiting for the panel discussion to begin, I browsed the racks at some of the booths in the Glam Room. This particular skirt from Pearls Boutique Shop immediately caught my eye. I’m a sucker for a full midi skirt for two reasons: they make me want to twirl nonstop and I can wear them to work. It was actually a two piece set with a matching crop top but I’m not the biggest fan of two piece sets so I only bought the skirt.
I knew instantly that I wanted to wear this skirt with my black mock neck bodysuit and ankle cuff pumps. Since the skirt is full and it has a sheen to it, I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit minimal. Like with all of my skirts, I had to size up to a medium and it fits perfectly. I personally like to wear bodysuits with skirts because you don’t have to worry about your shirt coming untucked. This particular one is from ASOS and I have 3 of them because I wear them so often with everything from pencil skirts to skinny jeans (see my blog posts here and here for more bodysuit inspiration). If you’re in the market for bodysuits of all styles and colors, I highly recommend checking them out. They even have two packs in some of their basic styles!
What can I say about these Saint Laurent shoes? Nothing really. They’re absolutely perfect and I love them. I knew when I saw them at Barneys New York almost 2 years ago that I had to have them. I didn’t know what size I needed to order so I called the shoe department at the San Francisco flagship store and got their friendly advice. The sales associate assured me that a 36.5 would fit (all of my other designer shoes are a 37) and although I was skeptical at first, I decided to trust him. When they arrived a few days later, they fit perfectly and I’ve been obsessed with these beauties ever since. I wear them with ankle skinny jeans and pencil skirts mostly but every now and then I like to add some edginess to my black full skirts and I break these out.
Thank you so much to Tashieka and Enjoi Lux for inviting me to such a lovely event. I had a wonderful time and I love my new skirt. I’m going to go twirl down the hallway in my office now…yay!
Have a great day!

Looks like such a fun event! Loving your midi skirt, it’s a great colour combo. Aren’t bodysuits just the best?! Never have to worry about it tucking your shirt in perfectly. The only downfall about them… is when you have to use the ladies room 🙂 lol!
